About Ossining, NY Present day Ossining is a vital community with a vast range in types of housing, from the very modest to the luxurious estates, and a diversified population enjoying a healthy racial and religious mix. The Village of Ossining is situated within 3 square miles and according to the U.S. Bureau of Census, 2000 census 24,010 reside in this historic village on the Hudson River. Residents of Ossining can conveniently reach New York City via the Metro North Railroad or major highways. Settled in 1695 and formerly known as "Clark's Corners," the Village was once a stop along the Underground Railroad. Pleasantville became an autonomous local government in 1897. About Sleepy Hollow, NY Located on the east bank of the Hudson River, at the entrance to the Tappan Zee Bridge, about 25 miles north of New York City, the historic villages of Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow offer beautiful river views, attractive housing, a variety of diverse businesses, and a great place to live or visit. About Millwood, NY Millwood is a hamlet located in the town of New Castle, New York in Westchester County. It was originally settled as Sarlesville. The area now known as Millwood appears on 19th century maps as Merritt's Corners (now the intersection of Rtes. 100 and 120) and Rockdale Mills (close to what is now the Briarcliff Manor border). As of the 2000 census, the community had a population of 1,210. About Valhalla, NY Valhalla is an unincorporated hamlet and census-designated place that is located within the town of Mount Pleasant, New York, in Westchester County. Its population was 5,379 at the time of the 2000 U.S. Census. Valhalla is the location of the Mount Pleasant Town Hall as well as the Mount Pleasant Town Pool and Community Center. The main street in Valhalla is Columbus Avenue which runs the length of the hamlet. |

The Village of Briarcliff Manor, New York is located in affluent Westchester County, nestled along the historic and scenic Hudson River. With 5 3/4 square miles of land, the Village offers a rustic residential environment within easy commuting distance to Manhattan and all that New York City has to offer. Less than thirty (30) miles north of Manhattan, Briarcliff Manor is easily accessible via Route 9, Route 9A, Route 100, Saw Mill River Parkway, and Taconic State Parkway. Metro-North railroad makes regular stops at the Village's Scarborough Train Station, providing many residents with the opportunity to commute to New York City by train. The Village's Central Business District is a quaint, tree-lined commercial area offering charming shops, restaurants and convenient services. With brick sidewalks, free parking and period street lighting, the area is one of the most desirable in the region. The Village's population was 7,696 according to the 2000 U.S. Census. Briarcliff Manor is situated within the Town of Ossining and the Town of Mount Pleasant, with over 91% of the residents in the Town of Ossining. Two public schools districts, Briarcliff Manor and Ossining, serve the Village. Both districts have been recognized for their excellence. One of the proudest accomplishments of the Village of Briarcliff Manor has been its ability to carefully and creatively balance development with the preservation of open space and the Village's historic character. In fact, the Village itself owns and maintains over 172 acres of active and passive parkland. About Mount Kisco, NY Mount Kisco was founded in 1850 shortly after the arrival of the railroad. It included two small settlements called Kirbyville and New Castle Corners. Kisco is derived from an Indian word –either kiskamenahook meaning “settlement near a brook” or cisqua meaning “a muddy place.” Mount comes from the 623-foot hill northwest of town. Since 1875, Mount Kisco has been an incorporated Village under the Village Law of the State of New York. One half of the Village laid in the Town of Bedford, and on half laid in the Town of New Castle. In the mid-seventies, the administrations of the two Towns agreed to support the Village’s effort to “secede” from the Towns. Mount Kisco emerged from the Town of Bedford and the Town of New Castle as a coterminous and independent Village/Town of Mount Kisco effective January 1, 1978. Mount Kisco comprises 3.25 square miles and has a population of 9,983 (2000 estimate). It includes 3,993 households as per the 2000 census.
